In a future where hunger and overpopulation has been solved by state-controlled cannibalism, huge meat producing corporations raise human livestock for breeding and slaughter. Aprille is a beautiful young breeder trying to get pregnant to avoid being reclassified as meat stock. She has been assigned to escort an important visitor on a tour of the facility. Their sexual play grows into a love which contrasts sharply with the cruelties that surround them and in which they will soon take part. |

This is one of the best stories I've read in here despite being a snuff story it's right up there just below the devils horse, Unlikely Antichrist and Brotherly Love, my three favorite stories on this site. If more of the snuff authors had your talent it could actually turn out as an enjoyable genre to follow. At any rate, kudos for a great story. (10/10)

The added "snuff" code has until now put me off and walk around your stories in a careful, circumventing move, C. A. Smith. But the consistently high scores your stories achieve had me wondering, as usually, snuff stories don't get that many top reviews. So, I set out to adventure one of your entries, and to be honest, I was quite astounded. Because, bar being an excellent word-wizard, the world you have created in Aprille borders on the fantastic: a mix between Orwell and Jack Vance. I cannot do else than to hand out a ten score, and must seek out your other entries. You have my thanks, C. A. Smith. JJ (10/10)

So many writers of Dolcett's world don't bother to build their characters or give them realistic motivations. Aprille has the most basic of human motivations, to survive. Even in Dolcett's world, where women have accepted their role as a source of food, it is perfectly acceptable to want to live. She has perfectly believable relationships even with those girls who are going to the slaughter. My only real criticism of the story is in the use of the drug called "O", which seems to be an addictive narcotic that the girls are willing to surrender their lives for in exchange for one more high. That's to close to the real world where addicts will do anything for a fix. It's depressing enough in the real world. I would rather not read about it in erotic fantasy. Otherwise, this story would have gotten a 9. (8/10)

What an interesting world and such a unique fantasy. This was very well written and I'm impressed at the ability to get in the girl's minds. It was long too, which made coming back to it the more interesting. I can't explain it, but I kept hoping somehow that the main character (Werener) would find a way to resuce Aprille. Oh well. (9/10)
