writer showed direction, but it changed directions to soon and seemed to leave JollyRodger a thing of the past. emmacd (6/10)

A little clinical, given the subject matter. Also, the exposition, while short, could have been eliminated by having some discussion between the protgonists. (4/10)

Just a short beginning chapter, but it reflects a concern: editing is worth the time. I am sure the young lady did not quite school; she quit school. There are other places as well.
(fixing the problems will raise the score!)
The story holds promise! There's lots of directions you could take this piece, and all full of possibilities. Looking forward to the continuation. (5/10)
